May 28th Protest: Letter From Baloch Society Of North America (BSO-NA)

Dear Friends,

On May 28th, 1998, the sick minded criminals, enemies of humanity, terrorists army of Islamic republic of Pakistan detonated five nuclear  bombs in the Ras Koh Hills in Chagai, in Pakistani occupied Balochistan. These tests were conducted without the will and consent of Baloch people. They committed a serious crime against the Baloch people and humanity. While the Ras Koh Hills in Chagi was burning into ashes due to the nuclear blast and people of Balochistan were running to safety to save their lives and animals from the aftermath of the blast and spreading radioactivity, the Punjabi Islamic extremists and Paki terrorist army officers were dancing in the streets of Lahore and Islamabad celebrating the death and destruction of Baloch people. They were distributing sweets and shouting slogan' like, Allah-o-akabr (God is great) , " death to America ", " death to India "," death to Israel ", and Long live A.Q Khan (The Terrorist Nuclear mastermind of Pakistani Islamic bomb and nuclear smuggler and proliferater).

The effects of that nuclear test are still being felt throughout the Balochistan and in the surrounding hills of Chagi Balochistan even after ten years have passed. Thousand people have died of cancer, seizures, birth defects, leukemia and lymphoma and an increase in cataract rate. Many people migrated from the contaminated area due to the spread of radioactivity and have became homeless. There have also been widespread reports of camels and livestock death in the Chagai, Kharan and surrounding areas of Balochistan.

The Pakistani nuclear tests in Balochistan brought devastated consequences there. The underground water went down from 60 feet to over 400 feet. Prior to nuclear tests, there used to be rains each year in the area but since then, no rains had occurred leading to the drought. Baloch Society of North America (BSO-NA) and Friends of Balochistan are organizing a protest rally in front of the Pakistani embassy on May 28th to raise our voice against that heinous crime committed against our people. Please join us and show your support.

Thank you.
Sincerely,

Dr. Wahid Baloch,
