Re: Speak Up Series

Washington, DC: The World Sindhi Institute (WSI) is pleased to invite you on
Thursday July 12, 2007 at 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm, to attend a discussion forum on two subjects of high importance related to Pakistan and the U.S. Foreign Policy. The meeting would be held in the WSI Conference Room, 1050 17th Street, NW, Suite 700 (7th Floor), Washington, DC 20036.

This occasion would be part of the “Speaker’s Series”, a series of open discussion forums on various topics of international importance and academic value, emerging from Southern Pakistan. Interested individuals/ organizations/ institutions in the U.S. are encouraged to participate. Specialists in different fields are invited as speakers. Question and Answer session would follow their presentations and various perspectives on the same subject would be reviewed from different view points, adding much learning and interest in the already interesting topics.

The two speakers for the July Speaker’s Series Forum are writers and analysts visiting the U.S. from Sindh, Pakistan. They would make the following presentations:

1. “Environmental Impacts of Mega Drainage Projects in Sindh”, by Naseer Memon, Writer and Development Professional.

2. “Governance Crisis in Pakistan ”, by Zulfiqar Halepoto, Writer and General Secretary of Sindh Democratic Forum

If you are coming via Metro, take the Red Line to Farragut North or the Blue/Orange Line to Farragut West.
